Properties of Rioters May Be Sealed by BDA, Bulldozer Action Possible Today

Bareilly (Desk): Even though the mastermind of the riots, Maulana Tauqeer, has been sent to jail, the spotlight has once again shifted to Faik Enclave. This is the same Faik Enclave where, two years ago, Ashraf (brother of mafia Atiq Ahmed) and his brother-in-law Saddam took shelter after the murder of advocate Umesh Pal in Prayagraj. Now, after the recent riots in the city, a similar picture has emerged. After throwing the city into flames of violence,

Maulana Tauqeer escaped from Faik Enclave and sought refuge at the houses of his close aides. While police were patrolling every corner of the city to maintain law and order and conducting raids to arrest the accused, Maulana appeared once again on social media—delivering fiery speeches, declaring Muslims innocent, and openly challenging the police, administration, and the government. He repeatedly said, “If you want to take action, arrest me.” This very move backfired on him. With his location being traced to Faik Enclave, he was eventually caught. Those who sheltered the accused are now also under the radar of the police and administration. On Sunday, properties including Fahm Lawn, Flora Garden, and Skylark Hotel on Pilibhit Road were sealed. It is alleged that the owners of the sealed hotels and banquet halls, Mohammad Arif and Asifa Jamal, were the developers of Faik Enclave. Large-scale encroachments on government land were carried out there, where several lavish houses and buildings were constructed. These have now been identified, and bulldozer action is expected soon.Officials stated that some of the rioters had built unauthorized structures on government land or against approved building maps, and strict action will be taken in line with government orders. On Sunday evening, police and administrative teams carried out patrols in this regard.Under state directives, the police, district and divisional administration, municipal corporation, and Bareilly Development Authority (BDA) are jointly tightening their grip on the rioters. All property maps are being examined. Encroachments on canals, parks, and government land are under the administration’s radar. Unauthorized constructions and old pending cases are being reviewed.Mohammad Nasir, president of Faik Enclave Colony, said the colony was established nearly 30 years ago, spread across over 250 bighas. He admitted that there are ceiling lands inside the colony but could not specify how much.Similarly, shops constructed illegally on drains and government land near a religious site at Novelty Crossing in Civil Lines are also marked for action. The municipal corporation has already carried out a survey and identification. On Sunday evening, officials finalized the action plan.It is said that close aides of Maulana Tauqeer have long occupied these shops built through encroachment near the religious site. Several surveys were conducted in the past, but only superficial action was taken. Now, with the government’s strict stance, the administration has once again prepared for bulldozer action. It is believed that on Monday itself, police, administration, and the municipal corporation may initiate operations.
